Research

I am an RCUK Fellow in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, at the University of Sheffield. My research interests are dominated by low mass stars and brown dwarfs, but include the interacting binaries known as Cataclysmic Variables, young stars, and extra-solar planets.

These disparate topics are tied together by an interest in using time-varying phenomena as a probe of astrophysical objects, in particular using ULTRACAM to study optical variability on timescales of seconds or less.
